Hi all,
I am new to airsoft and have bought a brand new TM Aug-Mil off trademe but cannot get it going!
The gun is definately brand new and has been modified to be only semi-auto.
I bought a brand bew 9.6V battery from UNcompany as they said this was better, though they said I needed to remove the fuse since this is larger than the factory recommended 8.4V. (Ah is same as the 8.4V unit).

Yes the battery is charged. I have opened the back to see if any obvious loose wires etc but all looks good.

Gun was bought from a person called 'Jaron', aka 'northshoreboy', but no luck getting help from him...

I also have a new STAR L1A1 SLR and that works fine with my limited airsoft experience...

If any one could offer advice on what to look for, or where I could take it to get it working would be great.
I am located in Onehunga, Auckland.

Regards
Grant

Are you a member of any of the auckland clubs yet? bring it along to a game and someone should be able to help you, when you first put the battery in did it make any noise? i had one come in and it was jammed out of the box, its not to hard to unjam but i think its better if someone shows you how to do it rather than trying to explain it on here, but you should join a club and come along to games.

so
The battery is obviously the right size?

Can you describe what happens when you pull the trigger.. any movement/changes at all?

Hey we at ASA (Airsoft Auckland Inc) are having a BBQ this Saturday if you would like to come along I am sure there will be someone there who can help you out. (Ill do my best to try though have a terrible reputation when it comes to fixing guns :P)

Have a look at our forums in the events section (www.airsoftauckland.co.nz/forums) for details or send me a PM :)

If this dosent work thats cool I am sure we can arrange a time to meet and help you out :)

Hmm... might be a stupid question, but did you replace the fuse with one with a higher AMP? Or "fold" the fuse connector together with a plier?

At any rate you should attend a game with either ASA or APA whose senior members would be able to know what's going on.

Hi all,
Not a member of any club yet...
Thanks for the 'airsoftauckland' link, will try and make your BBQ, otherwise thanks 'Naughts' for possible help to sort it out.

There was no noise when the battery was first put in, nothing.

When I removed the fuse, yes I did join the connectors together.

When I pull the trigger the only thing is the actual trigger click/click, two positions, one for semi, and I guess the fully depressed one for full-auto (thats what it was on the real ones when I was younger...)

Thanks for everyones input...

Hi chaps,
I paid a bomb for the TM-Aug, $950... yes feeling a bit crazy that day and the dangers of 'Buy now'! Damm!
Was the first Aug-Mil I had seen and understood you could not get even modified AEG's in NZ, so decided to get it.
UNcompany & Redwolf only ever had the civilian model on their website, and I wanted the Military model.
Was more interested in the replica factor rather than the airsoft factor.

As for the L1A1, bought that from UNcompany when they had their December sale last year, check their website for prices, US$452-10% from memory +freight... not sure if it is the best gun for airsoft wargames, as its long, but its pretty cool all the same, good for open country!

Regards Grant
PS. Battery was/is fully charged.

Seen a few of those L1A1's they are bloody good for airsoft in Auckland in our more open fields.

grant the reason i asked is because the TM mil Aug hasnt been in production for many years so i was a bit skeptical it was "new", unless it was put away in a safe place for many moons...or it was a classic army, or jing gong version instead

Northshoreboy has been wanting to sell that for a while now. I dunno who he is but if it comes in a Marui box it will be marui.

The trademe advert showed it in a box etc, but it was sent direct from Japan based on the paperwork which arrived with it.
Though when it arrived there was no box, just some polystyrene packing (part of the original box) and lots of bubble wrap, hence my displeasure in paying a lot of money for something that to me was not complete, a box is worth value as it makes the package whole...
but it is definately new, (clean as a babies bottom so to speak...), and its definately a TM...

In that case.. could be a genuine new TM Aug Mil.
Plenty of NOS there.

The boxes also take up space in the garagae/cabinet. Some much space that' it's not funny. :)

as an aside.. you should have voiced your disapproval.. as it is NOT "NEW IN BOX" as was apparently advertised on the auction.

Then I would say that Grant was somewhat fortunate.

I remember paying for a $1500 on a laptop on TM, to find out the guy ran off with the money.
