View Full Version : Need some new BDU's... recommendations please
Yay, went to my first game last saturday (was awesome) but alas, my new multicam stuck out and I got dominated/ripped on by multicam haters :)
So... basically I need a different set of camo. I am planning to play (i hope) at both CSG and possibly TAG here in Christchurch. What would be my best options for these areas? Most of the guys I saw were wearing good old woodland camo. Would this be my safest bet for general all-round play?
Your thoughts please.
Cheers
p.s So now I have a near new (used once) set of multicam BDU's (pants and shirt) for sale. If anyone wants them I will sell for $80 + P&P. They are size M. I can put a few photos up if anyones interested. EDIT: no loger for sale- decided to keep 'em.

Dude dont worry, all newbies stand out like sore thumbs :D
The multicam will come in handy one day. I wouldnt be to worried about getting rid of it straight away. It aways comes in handy if your bringing out a mate or somehting in the future or even just sitting on your wall for coooooolnessss factor :D
erm
was it real or fake?
Play with the stuff you have.. get used to it.. and WORK with it.
"ask not what your camo can do for you.. but what you can do with your camo!"

inferior camo?
...i say burn the inferior capitalist burgouis "clothing" and comply with soviet scale of issue!
...true you may stand out more than if you wore inferior marpat, but you will go down like a real man instead of hiding in the bushes like capitalist dogs!
*and in english*
Get some russian BDU's, you will not only look cool in them but you will also be the man.

They're only jealous. Just remember though if you've got Multicam and the material wasn't made by Crye you've broken the law. Seriously. Check Crye's website. lol

Save your cash and stick with what you have.
Any camo is fine so long as you aren't gumping about the field like a clown. Movement will give you away far quicker than the colour of your camo.
And look on all the ribbing you get as being character building :D

Haha swine, i knew you had to admit it.
back to the point -
Dude, all camos have their advantages, CSG's club camo is NZ DPM but alot of us play in Marpat because it works well in Gorse and broom as well as other areas. As Adler said, marpat also works well at the TAG fields.
Altho, saying that, a desert cam or a tibet cam works as well as flectarn.
Its really up to what you like the most as to what you should wear. Its not the military you know:D:D

*storms into room brandishing an L85* WTF?!? are you calling DPM, woodlands you anti-british barstool!! ive got a right mind to give you a backhand son.
Just jesting, yeah the majority of people on that day were wearing British DPM it works quiet well in the CSG forest as there are quiet alot of dark spots around

agreed, you'll get the hang of it mate. like BH said, movement is what will get ya. laylow, learn to use your environment, learn to work with your team mates.
these fullas like to play dressup and ponce about in front of the mirror more than girls do.;)
camo-shamo, it's what ever floats ya boat on the day.
a green t-shirt & black pants will do the trick.
Stick with the multicam, just let it get dirty, shiny new anything looks out of place.
If you want to buy something else, use your eyes, see how other cam looks in the bush.
Everyone can find a spot that therir camo works well in, just stick to those spots.
Alot of camos work well at the game, because they are dirty and faded and worn and stained.... yours will look like that soon enough.
Thanks for all the input guy's. Looks like I'll keep it and see how it goes in the future.
Cheers

nor in China methinks...
The thing to remember with camo is that since airsoft is generally such a close game given the effective range of the guns, movement is what gives you away more than which camo you are wearing.
Having all the nice gear is just for show. Experience will make you harder to see.

Is anything?
NZ DPM, Marpat, Flectarn, all work well in most NZ conditions.
Auscam can work well in certain condition too :p
The thing is All New players tend to get shot up lots until the learn better gaming skills.
Be quiet, Be patient, Aim and hit your target, Learn from your fellow team mates. :)

Just remember no matter what anyone ever tells you the best game tactic is gorilla warfare. You cant plan for it!. If your new and find out that your trying to be all tacticle like all your other buddys that have been playing airsoft for years just dont work! dont worry about it and go solo gorilla warfare styles. You will more than likely die each time you open up but you should take down at least 1 person a time. Very soon you will know when to open up when your chances are higher at surviving :)
Really all the old army type people will hate your for it. Which will just make it like so much better :D. If they complain about you doing it, get an AK then you can say your playing your role as in real life :D

I've seen someone wearing white trainers, blue tracksuit pants and a brown sweatshirt play for a day and go un-noticed on the field.
ditto with some Tan slacks and a dark grey shirt.. (mois).. :)
Auscam can work well in certain condition too :p
What conditions are these!? lol na i hate to say it but the jellybean gear does work. But like the rest of the guys have said its movement that gives you away at first

does propper use crye multicam material?
thats an awful cut...i prefer the crye precision style personally...mmm combat jacket :D
God.. either that or the Partizan suit..
but yes.. your SS stuff is evil evil evil to see... bastich.
Propper uses CRYE MC.. they have to (being in the states) else CRYE would be going "Lots of money in lawsuit, kthxbai"
The M85? cut has some advantages... a lack of bloody velcro!.. but in saying that, my MC is the ACU-esque cut.
