Hi Everyone
As most of you Kiwis would know that coming from Australia, most aussie would be n00bs to airsoft. I have been following and researching on Airsoft over the last 8 months and have come to love the sport.
"How can I love it without even using a bb gun let alone try airsoft as a sport?" you say
Well due to our laws here, we cant play airsoft as a sport let alone own a replica toy gun, then there is paintball! but for me its too expensive to play regularly and majority of the time the style of gameplay doesnt suit me. So the next best thing is Outdoor laser Skirmish which is not too bad and I love getting into Milsim type scenarios the only down side to laser skirmish is the ability to produce suppression which you cannot effectively produce using a IR beam among others things laser skirmish cannot do but i do like the range. For me Airsoft sits between Paintball and Laser Skimish and that suits me very well
Anyway here is what im going to ask.
I have just recently been offered a Job Package to work in the Cook Islands, and I am currently waiting a reply from the police commissioner on theirs laws with BB Guns and replica toy rifles (as there was no info on the internet) so my next step is to find out about purchasing a rifle.
I know what im looking for this moment in time, but im not sure as to where is the best place to purchase one, Im looking at getting a spring sniper rifle either this (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Sports/Hunting-shooting/Air-guns/BB-guns/auction-174858776.htm) or this (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Sports/Hunting-shooting/Air-guns/BB-guns/auction-174860851.htm) I know that trade me its not the best place to buy a airsoft rifle, but the above seller does have a store where if I can head down there and buy it and put it on the plane with me to Rarotonga if thats the best option. Or can I buy it somewhere else cheaper online and get it shipped to me in the Cook Islands. There are heaps of store online and im not too sure what are the best to buy from.
What Sniper rifle do u reccommend?
If all goes well with the commissioner, then I would like to get the sport started and regulated (to keep the Police and Politicians happy) In the Cook Islands, im originally from here and have heaps of land and jungle to play in and I know a few who can and are interested in getting the sport more active and grow. Who knows could get a few of you here for a weekend when that happens
I know some of you mean well and most will say come down and try it out first before buying, and speak to an amourer etc... Which I would love but I doubt I can convince my new employer to lets stay in Auckland or Christchurch for a couples days so I can play airsoft lol see what happens.
So any help or suggestions, or any news on BB Guns & Airsoft in the Cook Islands would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Guys
Regards
