You can get a battery to fit inside a real steel wood stock, but its a mission. Most of us are going to external batts inside first field dressing packets. Wood gives me wood.

I diddnt get nearly as much pictures of the whole event let alone the guns, i would have liked some more to choose from to make my final post on but i ended up deleting alot cos ive only got a 1gb XD card which runs out fast when you take videos :( Had to make room for breadsoft *Smirk*

Soviet field dressings that i use as covers for larger batteries... IE: lipos.

I also use a russian torniquet to hide the batteries and external wires better.

Might post pics of how it's done with my new lipos and aks74.

Sounds like a good plan, also like the G3 with wooden stock. Have thought about turning my L1a1 into a G1 or stg-58 which would be mint with my Austrian camo.

I was hoping to get hold of some handguards and the bi-pod to start with. I hope they will fit onto the Star-L1a1 with minimal mucking around. I've found them online at gunthings.com but they won't ship outside the US. I think i'll keep the original pistol grip and stock.
