Same here. The real deal has been in the market since 06 I believe, airsoft clones out since last year.

IT? but they are a THEY... there is the scope mount/rings, the red-dot and the magnifier.

The 3x just screws in the back. Last time I saw a 3x for sale it was on a UK forum for a couple hundred quid.

Red Dot, depending on which brand you get and where you get it from. Via an astute armourer, your ACM Aimpoint Comp M2s clone RDS are usually between the 60-80 mark landed (but may be much much more now given the state of the dollar). Older ACM Comp M2s may have ghosting issues, new ones may or may not have it. G&Ps are around the same mark too, may be a bit more.

The 3X will cost you about NZ$80-100 landed, but may have increased since the stock market crash several days ago. Also depend on the mount, the most of the chinese 3X are QDs + swivel lock. BoomArms are selling a Flip to side mount for U$54, but I heard a chinese FTS version is out soon (or already??!).

Total, they're a tad less than a decent ACOG.

mine were quite a bit more than what Amokis cost as mine are real deal Aimpoint
Aimpoint Red dot with QD mounting kit and Aimpoint 3x maginified.

Obviously advantages over single iluminated scope is the close range stuff, or low light situations.
that and they are bloody cool!
