Hey Ladies/Gents,

I have begun bringing a team of mates together for some airsoft adventures.
We are mostly from Upper Hutt, Wellington. We number 4 so far with 4 more possibles.
Initial Gun purchases have been made, in the form of GBB Pistols (urgh not enough mag Capacity) & a couple of practice (cherry popin') fights have been had in local surroundings.

Shortly we will be looking to attend an event in Welly & I have been in touch with Stretch already re this.

We are currently looking at SEG's (as newb's do, I'm sure) But will not be ordering anything without some discussion amongst the Learned on these forums.
(Jing Gong with V3 gearbox, Semi'd, good batt & charger, seems to be the general suggestion from what I've read)

Also, can someone point me to an updated list of venues? Blue Mountains/Haywards is minutes from me and I'd love to check it out prior to a game.

Thanks for reading, expect to see me frequently in the forums.

Awesome! great to be here.
Instead of filling up my day working, I am trying to narrow down choices for an SEG.

I'm currently wading my way through pages of G3 variants (H&K fan here).
At first I wanted an MP5A5, but felt it might be a bit short, MC51 looked a bit better, but a non-solid stock leaves it lacking in terms of battery usage as well. That leaves me with what options? G3A3?

If you like H&K then a good starting gun is the G36 series from jing gong. Cheap, reliable and decent power and accuracy. But there are heaps of factors that go into choosing a airsoft gun so read some reviews and stuff so you know the gun you like isnt going to be shit.

or come along and shoot some guns (lots of different guns floating around) and see what feels nice in your hands :)

The MC51 can be fitted with a solid stock. I have a G3A3, currently its away getting fixed but when it comes back home I'll let you have a play with it.

Ahh yeah i should have said. I am not a big fan of the G36. Looks a bit too...........lasergunpewpew for me. but thanks for the suggestion.

Tm stuff is nice, my P226 is TM, but im trying to keep my budget down or the wife will have my dangly bits, and i cannot really justify 3x the price for brand name and a bit better reliability.

(Flannel is a nickname from waaaaaay back in college times. one of those ones that stuck, i almost dont have a real name)

So much for TM reliability, just went to fill my Mag with gas and it leaked like a biatch then blew apart!
Tried to re-screw it without stripping, but the thread is naffed & it just winds & winds :-( 2nd day failure FTL.

welcome to airsoft always good to get more players.

ah in wac we have had enough marui gbbs to arm a small country with nearly 4 times that in mags never had that problem.
what gas are you using?
any upgrades?
and did you do any work on the mag at all?

I'm going to say this once and once only then i'm going to give up because no one ever listens and they all get stung for it.
talk to us first dont just go out and get what you think is best.
there is a lot of experience with aegs, gbbs, and rifles in our little club.
if you want a gun pm people look at reviews.
there's a lot more to saving you money than just buying a cheep gun.
(this is a general statement) don't assume you know better than the people you've pmed or talked to or what ever if you don't trust there judgment talk to some one else .
this is not a cheep sport/hobby if you want a gun that's going to do every thing you want and keep doing it start saving now.
one last little semantic tokyo marui isn't just a name brand they are the current leader in r&d in aegs and gbb pistols and spring rifles
every other brand copy's them some add in there unique variations.
gasmans mc51 is over 6 years old only upgrade was a larger spring to make it do 360 fps and a new mecbox shell the internals were like new when i had a look at it near the end of o7 god knows how many bb's went threw that thing.
Chinese guns have arrived broken
**rant mode deactivate**
in case you haven't noticed yet I've had some bad experiences with peoples Chinese guns

haha fair call monkey.

i have spent roughly the last two weeks looking at options & reading reviews from ahole to elbow, all over the web. Theres no way I will be jumping feet first into any SEG purchase, you can be rest assured of that. :)

The P226 mag had a days use (about 10 fills, with green gas), ran it empty, then put a touch of gas in while i stored it til the next day. Next day it leaked on the first fill & spat its guts on the refill. hadn't done any upgrades & hadn't touched the mag other that loading & filling.
