Hi Guys!
I'll be coming over for a year and want to keep playing, I'm from Ireland and here we have a power limit of 328fps with a 0.2g bb. From looking around I know there is a limit to semi-auto but are there any power limits?
Thanks :D

Where are you moving too mate? Different clubs have different limits. A few cities even have multiple clubs each with different limits. We are not governed by law to have a limit. (within reason-I don't think any club would allow a 700fps gun etc).
EDIT: Beaten!
Different clubs have different limits/engagement distances, 330 is fine, no clubs will have any issue with that. (to my knowledge)
Where about in NZ are you going to be? that way the local club can fill you in on what's what as far as fps limits are concerned.

Or right cool, I'm hoping to move to the wellington/upper hutt area.
This kinda brings on another question, whats the story with playing as here we have a site where anybody can play for the day if you pay a fee €25. How does the whole club thing work?

You have WAC, RuB and 232 in the wellington area. If you are interested in playing with WAC, send me a PM :)
WAC's FPS limits (http://www.asnz.org.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=3711)
Thats $50NZ!!! At WAC fields there is a $10 or $5 field fee, sometimes its free. You provide all your own gear usually.

<350 FPS-No engagement expect common sense
I assume this is just normal engagement, no blind firing etc. etc.

Yeah correct, no pointblank, blindfiring is discouraged with all guns. If you are within 5m and you have to shoot them then you are close enough to shoot a vest or somewhere that isn't tender. Only if the victim doesn't know you are there should you use bang. This avoids people running into rooms shouting "bang" and then claim everyone is dead and causing problems for example.

This (http://www.asnz.org.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=3518) is the CQB site, its an old school with multiple 2 storey buildings, very cool place to play at.
We have another 4 bush fields, mix of open fields/forest and close in bush. We usually don't take pictures at them though.:o
For those European visitors to this board:
Our "sites" are non commercial, unlike what you guys would call a "site". Here most of our "sites" are run by community groups and clubs, not-for-profit.

Thanks for the clear explanation!
We are starting to see a few clubs pop up though with an annual fee and no site fees which are run by the players for the player. I wonder which will become more popular?

Thats $50NZ!!!
Not really an issue when I was getting paid over $150k NZD with the exchange rate. It's all relative. Public liability insurance is also much greater over there.
Also the fields over there are a bit different to here. Paying 20 pound to play on any other Saturday with 120 other people in a disused power station over 5 floors with its own airfield and out buildings was worth every penny.
There was also the option of about 50 fields within a 1-hour drive. CBQ games in the centre of London in nightclubs that had to pay the rent. Games in underground tunnels under Epsom that required rental. It's a bit different to just rocking up to a bit of DOC land.

Irish airsoft is still in its infancy though, so no amazing sites yet.

And with recent events it's only a matter of time before they take it away again. :(

I think you'll find most clubs are starting to lean towards the 1 Joule way of thinking

I think what would suit most is a 1J limit on all rifles except snipers, because whats the point being a sniper if you can only fire as far as the guy with the ak beside you?

um no?
Pretty much since your going to wellington aim for 1 joule for cqb, 420fps for open fields and then snipers 550 and you will be all sweet.
