Hey folks. So my mom wants to move to New Zealand and wants me to come. I wanted to know about the restrictions on airsoft in New Zealand and put that into thought before i give her an answer. So i know you guys cant have automatic guns. Correct? And i believe you need a restricted endorsment license or something to get automatic and restriced stuff? Well heres whats coming if i move here: Chinese GBB RPG (Full metal with defunct. Warhead..), WE GBB M4 (Full metal), Marushin Kar 98k (Full metal and Wood), TM M9 Chrome (ABS), KWA M9 PTP (Full metal with real beretta grips), KJW M9 (Full Metal), A&K M249 MK2 (Full Metal) and Star L96 (Metal & ABS). Sooo... which stuff will get in without hassle, which stuff i need special endorsment for to import, and which stuff is a no go no matter what? I really dont wanna lose the RPG :(

As long as the Autos are Semi'd and cant be changed back then its legal (Customs have ways they want them semi'd) Anything like your bolt action guns will be allowed in. GBB are allowed as long as they arent auto ones (if you can get them)

So the RPG is technically a semi rite?? so its ok?
And, By making an AEG into a semi, do i just block the Auto mode by putting a barrier inside? Or do i have to mutiliate the gun and remove parts and especially external parts that make up the realism?

I dont know about the RPG, but the rest should be fine, you will need to permanently semi the GBB m4 and the M249 though which could be tricky (I'm not 100% sure, but I think the A&K m249 is difficult to semi), and of course you have to be 18+ to own airsoft Guns in NZ, which I assume you are?

I think it would probably be best to contact NZ Customs directly and get them to say yes or no before trying to import it.

Currently Gas grenades and so on are still only tentatively allowed in, and only specific types/brands at this stage, so I dont think anyone on here would be able to give you an accurate answer.

Chance of it being dunners isn't high sorry bro:P

Yea the RPG should be right but might aswell check.
If you need to post it in, I'm a very trustworthy type:)
Make sure when you semi them you actually do, and they cant be changed back. They check. (sometimes, even if they don't know what they're checking) Don't try to be a smart guy etc...

I want to see the RPG and M249 (considering you get them in).
Otago has a great rural community :P

As far as i'm aware getting the RPG in isn't a problem, much the same as an M72, you can always import it as a prop.

Isn't the RPG the same as an M203? I would have thought the RPG could come in fine, but finding shells for it might be difficult...

Chinese RPG = Should be fine, its a Launcher and launchers & grenades were recently (Although tentatively) given safety clearance - check with customs first and stress THAT IT IS AIRSOFT AND NOT REAL before you even mention "RPG"

WE GBB M4 = Easy to semi auto, you have to remove a small part of the gun. Do not bother trying to bring the part with you, customs will ask questions and they arent stupid.

Marushink K-98 = Comes in just fine, no power restrictions here in NZ

TM, KWA, KJW M9's = Get the auto function (if there is any) disabled, again, dont try and bring any of the parts with you. Customs are pretty conniving and they know what random parts could mean. Besides you cant play auto here anyway.

A&K M249 = Hard to say i am afraid. There are one or two that are here & semi automatic, but they are using the ExtremeFire mosfet. The riskyness is Mosfets do die after a while, and the A&K is a direct copy of the CA mechbox, meaning it has no provision for a mechanical semi-auto system, such as the G&P M249.

Star L96 = Fine, same as the K98

I thought you could have airsoft guns if your 16 with the proper license. I hope so because I can't wait 2 years :(
