"An 18-year-old youth has been arrested after a Japanese tourist was held up at gunpoint in broad daylight. The victim was one of a group of about 25 tourists on Itchen St, Oamaru, when he was confronted by a youth with a BB gun at 3.50pm, said Detective Sergeant Mike Ryder, of Oamaru police.
The youth took $10 from the tourist before fleeing in a blue car.
"It was only a BB gun, but it doesn't make it look any less real when it's pointed at you," Mr Ryder told the Otago Daily Times.
The accused youth will appear in Oamaru District Court today accused of aggravated robbery."

10 dollars buys a lot on McDonalds value menu...or you could get a combo at BK and up size onion rings.

Once again we are presented with another fine exhample of youth behavior. It brings joy to my heart to see such enterprising creativity. God damn ball bag.

This is the sorta thing i can imagine ppl daring each other would do, I mean who drives out, robs a guy in broad daylight and only takes 10 dollars?? Would cost more in petrol and to buy the bb gun (or sell it)

It just strikes me as not being a normal robbery, more of a "Hey kid go do this"
