Show her some youtube videos that are good quality, all protected up and how its a thinking sport not just shooting at people kinda thing?
lol how old are you?
How about you get an airsofter over to talk to her, like a perent-airsofter interview, or get her to call someone...

Well first off you could tell us why shes against it? I know from there I could throw a few arguments around. Good for friends, Fitness outside air eg not playing video games sitting down lol.

Don't give up.
If YOU enjoy airsoft, don't let your parents take it away from you. Don't stop driving (In a metaphorical sense) and don't ever give up and think "Oh they'll never let me do it".
It's bollocks. It's taken me years to get where I am now (Started with paintball, have slowly worked my parents around)
If you are dedicated and committed to doing something, your parents simply can't do squat. If that means constantly hassling your parents for it, or having the odd argument, then i reckon thats worth it.
My parents are still against it (My father will very rarely talk to me about airsoft, other than to make sure I drive safe on the way there and back) but my mum's turned around a bit simply because she knows I enjoy it, and it's not all that bad.
Oh yeah, be real ninja about it :p
When I first went to an airsoft game, I met some of the LOD guys at a Burger King in Hamilton, they had just finished a meeting. Two of the guys (Cougar and Kilo6alpha) went out and had a quick chat to my parents and gave them a quick run down and then offered to provide transport to the game that day. Well, if you pull something similar, they can't exactly say no :p

Trying getting depressed, rather anti-social with insomniac like problems.
Start showing an increased amount of interest in airsoft, go to a game, and then suddenly become cured. Being a mother hopefully she will that it brings you so much joy, she will lighten up on it. If that fails go with the basics. Show maturity towards gun safety. Perhaps have a long time player talk to her about it. Or even bring her along to show her.

trust me. the lilkley hood of getting cully's mother along to a game is very low.

I don't see the big problem...Theres a far less risk of injury from playing airsoft than rugby for example. worst you can get is a nasty welt, or if your an idoit trip and break your neck at the worst. But while saying that walk out on the street you might get hit by a bus!

Tell your mum that Airsoft is played by people in the Army or about to join up. Thats what I tell my mum, don't know if its a good or bad thing. lol
Otherwise she might think the people involved in Airsoft are bad eggs... playing with guns for no reason etc.

/Skips past all the above crap
I agree with whoever said, bring someone older around to tlak to her, if your still looking for your mums advice that means your probably a younger player *and theres nothing wrong with that*
But yeah sometimes its better to have a third party thats a bit older comes and just answer some questions for your mum, she could be worried about all kinds of thing such as her son walking around with replica weapons and might worry about you being hurt :)

23-03-2009, 10:41 PM
Well the story behind the BB and my tounge. lol back at the first ever airsoft game i went to(Pukeora november last year) Easygoer was up the top of the hill, with his sexy M60:D and we were all attemtping to storm the hill(surely u remember this game?)
well i was using Blackhawks GBB berreta M92 and i decided to attempt a lone charge straight at the MG posistion:) got within 10 metres of it and managed to shoot at his sniper support:) and then Easy saw me...and let rip..a pellet hit me in the tounge:( and it freaking hurt. so i ran down the hill yelling ACH HE STHOT MA THOUNGE!!:D
lol it was shameful and alot of bad luck..teach me too be and idiot and charge an M60 emplacement
lol

Hey there Cully :-) ........ I'm in exactly the same boat as you, my Mum is dead against it. It helped it a bit when i showed her some youtube vids, (As per BLACKHAWK's comment) but still fully havent convinced her. I'm getting my firearms licence soon and that seems to help alot for some reason. But yeah showing that you're educated about gun safety definately helps. Good luck with it though :-)

Yeah mate, no need for a firearms license unless you are doing it to prove something to your parents.
Go for it dude, you're old enough to make your own decisions :p

Well I don't think anyone in their right mind here would want to be shot with metal BBs. And good to hear you're all good now. Now, just don't tell her how much the guns and gear cost ;)
