hey you should point out to those guys with face paint on how to apply it correctly...and cover the neck...no point dispersing the light off their faces when all you can see is a fluro neck ;)

Face cam was more a "requirement" then actually used as camoflague. Since it was a "tac" situation you must have face cam on at all times according to army rules. However, since it was BLOOODY hot we were sweating like rapists and during digging i was drinking around 6-8 canteens of water a day. Any cam cream on your forehead or neck was sweated off. Also most people had scrim netting for their neck, but again during digging why wear even more layers?

Hey, who was in who's section? If I recall our room & section adopted you so you and Marriot could escape the "special" ones in your room. :D

3 days of constant digging, 2 days of hearing others shoot and f-all sleep, 1 day of refurb - they didn't show that in the recruitment brochure .:)

I wonder if Marriot still has the burn scars from speed ironing (thats where you iron the shirt while still wearing it)?

Highlights where the grenades & grenade launchers, plus what girls wore on the drinks night.:p Also the Singaporian's 155mm howitzers - we could hear the explosions 8-15kms away & the corditite smell turned our farts into chemical warfare.

Low point was watching our section leader massage the toes of the other section leader while yelling at us to dig harder (after marking our turf out wrong)- what a biatch.

All in all a good time.

Those guys were on my RIT2 (radio pic) I showed Fraser how to use a rat pack to full advantage. They are a bloody good bunch. reminds me of days in the butts .. targets up! faster ballbag! Corporal Devlin. Marriot was a funny bastard, good stuff
What happened to Bibi? did he do RIT3? what about Strickland, the killer?

Bibi was my room mate. Bloody awesome lad, bit of a sad story though. It appears he might have trouble due to being Fijian. He told me he failed the security clearances because of the coup :(

Marriot was an complete nutter - awesome fun to have around. I also had Vyle the "vialator" - non stop fun.

Corporal Devlin was hot (Federov fell in love :p). She must be a good medic - but her infantry knowledge was limited (we had to re-turf and re-did tons of digging because of her mistakes). Seeing her massage Bensons toes was not pretty - ick.

Strickland was in Muddy's room - he and Bibi were bloody funny. We had bets on the march-out who would pancake. Luckilly no one really stuffed up - the video looks good.

Bibi and I took Strickland to the Orderlys room. Scariest thing I did the whole time I was there. Federov was a wee bit weird, harmless though. Will be good to catch up at the nats. Devlin was promoted not long before RIT2. She was working us hard to impress the TF Cadre. oh the stories that yearn to be told... see ya at the nats

Photos taken by defence force personnel while on duty remain the possession of the Crown. This means that you can be done for disclosure of official information if you post a photo or video clip on a public site. These photos may seem harmless to you, however you have one of a piece of sensitive equipment. If you have any questions/queries see your cadre staff and check the relevent vols. In the mean time remove these photos.

i guess we may not consider a crappy old radio sensitive, and we've probably bought more secure comms units from dick smith, but i guess the army takes that kinda thing seriously

the flipside is.. if they really don't want this shit published, then maybe they shouldn't let people take digital cameras into the field? would make sense, no?

And no OA, the radios in the pics have encoded frequency hopping information specific to the NZDF contained within them. :)

I think the army is more concerned about pics and videos of NCOs getting drunk and having videos on youtube :P

If you knew anything about the NZDF and their policies you would understand why i posted that.

I only posted that as a favour since there are military people out there who take a dim view to those kinds of things and have the ability and inclination to cause Muddy dramas.

I'm sure there are people who know people who have had certain military items on trade me come round to bite them on the behind...

There are eyes everywhere... so it behoves everyone to exercise caution.

My original assesment of you stands. Your first post is, basically, a load of bollocks. If there was anything "restricted" in the photo's Muddy took, he wouldnt of ben able to have had the camera there in the first place.

You'll find that a number of people around here dont like smart arse know it all's. Im one of them. Tell you what, tell us a little more about your self. Age, length of service, unit (oh I hope its not classified) rank, etc. C'mon, youve started something, back it up.

Your original “assessment” was an assumption at best as there are many other factors involved to make an assessment. I have a rough idea of who you are now, but that doesn’t change my original opinion as;

“A man can sit on top of a mountain for 20 years and still come down with only the knowledge of the wind whistling through his ears”.

I did in fact make some pertinent points (check the vols, school of sigs or SMIS) and they were only made out of good will, although probably not worded as diplomatically as they could have been.

My post was not a load of bollocks; opsec and comsec are much talked about but rarely practiced. I’m not being a smartass, i’m not trying to start anything and i’m not releasing any of my details on a public forum.

You guys need to calm down, i reiterate my intent; it was done out of the best intentions.
