Hi everyone.

Just wanted to get some of your thoughts on what order I should buy my Airsoft gear. (I'm a little tight on cash, hence my problem)

This is what I have so far:

1x GBB Desert Eagle with 1 mag
5000x BB bullets (mix of .20's and .25's)
1x neoprene face mask (on the way)
1x pair of goggles

Now, my question is what should save up for next? I say this because I don't want to buy something I dont especially need when starting off my Airsoft experience.

Anyway, your thoughts would be appreciated.
Cheers

Camo.

You can get some good stuff on trademe sometimes or in army surplus shops. Then get some more mags for your pistol and you are set :)

ok lets see if i can answer this for ya :)

first up firearms licence... do not get anything else till you have this.
Second, go along to a club game, since you are from christchurch there are two clubs there for you to attend, i read you cannot play Saturdays so talk to tag :)

as for order of actual gear.
Really the list is this

Safety goggles/glasses/mask
first and foremost before anything else.
Do not go cheap here, the very lest you should spend is 49 dollars, this amount will allow you to purchase a pair of Guarder C4's, which have interchangable lenses. you can buy these on trademe from a guy on there alot of people buy stuff from Example (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Sports/Hunting-shooting/Apparel/auction-145785249.htm)
Since you already have Goggles i would get these checked by the club you intend on playing with to make sure they are ok and can standup to getting hit by the high powered guns.
camo BDU
Once you have done this, i would suggest some camo, something basic is fine, i am not entirely sure what the best and most suitable type of camo that will not make you stand out like a dogs bollocks
But again i would suggest looking at trademe for an idea.
Example 1 (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Sports/Hunting-shooting/Apparel/auction-145734529.htm)
Example 2 (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Sports/Hunting-shooting/Apparel/auction-146343823.htm)
Example 3 (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Sports/Hunting-shooting/Apparel/auction-146343105.htm)
Boots
Personally i use a pair of boots from www.redbackboots.co.nz, they are EMS range, and retail for just over 200 i believe, obviously there are much cheaper brands out there but i went for quality, your budget may not allow you too though. I would suggest looking around on both trademe, and also overseas sites and or any supplus stores in Christchurch.

Also include a couple of critical things such as
Hydration bladder/canteens
the reason most people go bladder based systems is its easily transportable and sits on your back and has a cooling effect and you can vast amounts of water with out weight issues.
and no sloshing noises you get from canteens, but again personal choice here.
Boonie/hat/ballcap
You really do need one of these they keep the sun out of your eyes and heat off your head to a degree, not to mention with helping to break up your outline allowing your camo to work better in the field.

Weapons
Where this is a whole nother kettle of fish.
With GBBS you have to think about your GAS and the types available if you go propane which most of us, you will need an adaptor to go with your gun, this you purchase for approximately 40 dollars and allows you to use Colemans propane or something similar this is a cost saving thing as it allows you to use Gas you can purchase from camping/bunnings/etc for a fraction of the price Green gas costs in the region of $20.00 diff i believe.
you should also decide if money is the problem do you stay with a gas gun to start with, if you are then you need to make sure you have a suitable gbb with that is highly skirmishable and you have atlest 3 mags for it.
I see you have a Gbb already, Desert Eagles are lots of fun but remember MAGS MAGS MAGS MAGS MAGS !
Semi Electic guns
Well here you have to think about several things and take into account costs such as battery charger (100-200 inc shipping)
Batteries (40-80 dollars each inc shipping)
Mags (2-3 is best but more the better really)

Then theres load bearing equipement e.g vests belt kits etc.
you are best and i give this advice to just about every new player i talk too. go to a game and talk to people, ask them what works and look around and take in what you see. Airsoft is about personal choice and people like diff things, and choose diffirent gear for those reasons.

Hope some of that helps.

Hi everyone.

Just wanted to get some of your thoughts on what order I should buy my Airsoft gear. (I'm a little tight on cash, hence my problem)

How tight is your budget. if you don't mine me asking?

This is what I have so far:

1x GBB Desert Eagle with 1 mag
5000x BB bullets (mix of .20's and .25's)
1x neoprene fask mask (on the way)
1x pair of goggles

You may want to re-consider the neoprene face mask: in principle, it's a mask that conforms to your face, and thick enough from protecting your face from bruises yadda yadda, but in practice neoprene is the material they use in biohazard gloves, which means it is near imprevious to fluid, i.e doesn't breath, and guess where all those moist air goes from your sweat goes.

(I.E you might want to consider a plastic face-mask instead)

Now, my question is what should save up for next? I say this because I don't want to buy something I dont especially need when starting off my Airsoft experience.

Anyway, your thoughts would be appreciated.
Cheers

0) i) If you haven't get a job and started saving, it's time to do so :D
0) ii) A-cat licence for you

1) Decent pair of boots - someone on trademe sells brand new Magnum Stealth boots foor $90 a while ago but not sure whether she is still doing it.

2) Save up to $300 so you can have a SEG + mags. A SEG tends to outgun a pistol in bush games (which is probably the type of game that you would end up playing the most).

3) Camo + vest/LBE kit or just get a BHI-Omega clone vest/crossdraw vest (around $100) as an interim stop-gap measure.

Not at all. Currently I have just under $300. But the licence will set me back $120 so I only have about $180 to spend on gear.

Looks like I'm gonna need a job:)
